Who is Team Purple Motorsports?
The Schneider's, Ron and Melanie along with there boys,
Austin and Waren, are avid Motorsports
enthusiasts. Each member has a different avenue of
interest in, but all share a passion to race and a competitive spirit. Austin designs and builds
model functioning suspensions. He draw's impressive designs both on paper
and/or the computer, as well as some interesting chassis. Waren can't wait to
drive the cars by himself. Both boys drive whenever they can.
The boys can be found at events when it doesn't interfere with their studies
and/or athletic interests. Ron's parents play a huge role behind the scenes.
They care for
the boys when we race. Without their help and loving support, we would be unable to travel
and participate at a professional level in the motorsports arena.
Melanie has been competing all her life in the sports
arena: Diving/Swim team, cheerleading, soccer, and tennis. She
owns/operates a Promotional Consulting Firm that provides Screen printing,
Embroidery, Banners, Give-A-Ways, etc. Melanie's continuing dedication to
the team and it's success is unprecedented. She has competed as a spotter
for 8 years and began Street Legal Drags last year. Her seat time,
knowledge and understanding of vehicle dynamics, the ability to feel the
feedback from the vehicle and nerves of steel has earned her a seat in our
newest addition, our NHRA/ PSCA Dragster. Aside from sitting in the Drivers Seat of the 23T
Altered Dragster, Melanie is responsible for the business side of things, team
appearance, team promotion and the schedule for the Race Team.
Ron has been driving since he was 10 years old.
From golf car, motorcycles, & trail
bikes
to his parents cars (while they weren't home of course). He has been
taking cars apart and rebuilding them to enhance performance as long as he can
remember. Combined with a passion for racing, he's always looking for a way to
perfect his rig. Ron has 8 years of Competitive Rock crawling under his belt and
1 year of Street Legal Import Drags, not to mention years of off road driving,
trails and mud bogging. His ability to promote the team's sponsors,
provide important feedback to product sponsors and always working to promote
their products along with always working on improving the Team makes him an
valued Team Owner. Ron designs, builds, and maintains the Team's Race Cars and
transport rigs. He Crews for the Team and stays on top of all the Race prep
details.
Steve Monahan (Crew Chief) has 25+ years in the Drag
Racing Industry and NHRA, his Father Raced NHRA and he has been around it all
his Life. He is owner of The Man Shop performance engine and Car builder.
He has the ability and skills both in the pits and behind the wheel. We
are extremely excited to have him on our team.
