The History of Drag Racing
50 years ago, the National Hot Rod Association began as a flame
burning in the heart of one man: Wally Parks. Back then, he dreamed of a sport
that melded man with machine, unmatched speed with unparalleled safety, and
indescribable thrill with impeccable organization. Wally's goal was simple - to
show street racers a better way - and he believed in his vision with such
conviction that his Safety Safari traveled the nation, introducing the National
Hot Rod Association to America one car club at a time.
Unmatched speed. Unparalleled safety. Indescribable thrill. Impeccable
organization. In 1951, those qualities made drag racing an exciting arena for
groundbreaking technological advancements. Today, they represent a marketing
opportunity like no other in sports.
The NHRA believes in their product with the same conviction that led Wally
Parks to preserve through the decades to build it. They offer the most intense
racing experience on the planet, and we're proud to present it to you to help
meet your marketing goals.
On the track and in the market place, no sport moves faster than NHRA
Championship Drag Racing. There's no better time to get involved. Media exposure
is at an all-time high. Racing venues are bigger and more impressive than ever
imagined. And NHRA's intense racing series provide a sensory experience
unrivaled anywhere.
With 53 percent growth in attendance during the 90's, an average of 100,000
cheering fans at each of the national events in 34 of the top DMAs. An
unparalleled opportunity is launching. It's time to take a ride with the most
explosively intense motorsport on the planet.
Why Team Purple for 2009/2010 and the Future
What makes our team unique is our race team. Ron and Melanie Schneider are a crowd favorite. We eat, sleep, and breath Racing. Along with our boys who are equally involved in the Racing industry. They each play an intricate part in our team.
Our background history. We were the first extreme rock crawling team to have a women spotter. Melanie has competed consecutively since 1999 as a spotter. In 1999 they recovered their vehicle from a roll over without outside assistance and earned the Best Team Work award. They have gone on to achieve "Best Team Work" awards and consistently placed in the top 10% of their class. Ron and Melanie are a real crowd pleaser.
Ron maneuvers his vehicle through the courses with such finesse. He manages to put the vehicle back on its wheels in most roll over situations without ever leaving the vehicle. Melanie is a spectator favorite! Her small physique astonishes the spectators when she leverages her body weight, holding a spotter strap attached to the Buggy (weighing 2700 lbs.) and keeps it on its wheels.
Drag Racing is the next step for Team Purple Motorsports. Both Ron and Melanie show an impressive display on the strip, but its Melanie with her consistent RT's, ET's, 60 foot times and incredible display of control that has earned her a seat in our Altered Dragster. Along side Crew Chief Steve Monahan with over 25 years in the NHRA and a very accomplished Engine builder, Team Purple will be ready for the SHOW.
***Team Purple...The winning Combination***
With our unparalleled dedication, love of racing, love of our fans and the support and dedication for our family of Sponsor's, Team Purple is a winning choice for your Brand Recognition and perfect spokes models for your companies image.

2009 Sponsorship Strategy
With the 2009 racing season just around the corner, our marketing strategy is simple...continue to promote our sponsor's with as much exposure as possible.
On-site merchandising at events plays a key role in the success of overall corporate marketing strategies. NHRA and PSCA are committed to working in close partnership with its racers and sponsors to maximize their exposure and promotional opportunities in the marketplace. “Race on Sundays, Sell on Mondays" was once a popular slogan used by the Detroit Automakers. While the same philosophy applies today, the "Sales" extend far beyond Monday sales. It embraces the need to create and maintain an image in the marketplace and employs the racetrack as visibility and exposure for company products.
Drag Racing is far more valuable to sponsors since it is a participant sport. Drivers and spectators will purchase products during and after the races. NHRA & PSCA Drag Racing delivers to its audience more effectively and efficiently than traditional advertising approaches - one of the key reasons that so many companies have found that being involved in Drag Racing makes sound economic sense. Your company's logo and information will not only be displayed on the car and transporter during the race, but unlike most other forms of racing, the fans are encouraged to walk into the pit area to meet the drivers and watch the teams work. This gives us the opportunity to promote your company in a more up close and personal way. We will have handouts with a picture of the car on one side, our team information and your logo on the other. It gives the fan a souvenir they will take home and keep, as well as, keeping your company in front of your potential end user long after the event. Everything from t-shirts to fun exciting hand-outs, much of the impact of your promotional dollar will reach far beyond the racetrack and continue long after the race is over.
A Cost Efficient Opportunity
Today's advertisers, faced with an ever increasing number of media options and rising media costs, are demanding more cost efficient, creative and effective ways to reach large audiences. One form of marketing, Motorsports Marketing, has won the widespread approval and favor of the corporate community. Motorsports offers a superior solution for controlling escalating costs and shrinking audiences while increasing market exposure. When a company buys commercial time during a televised sporting event, it receives seconds or minutes worth of exposure. Where as, when a company chooses to participate in an event itself, it receives thousands of lasting, quality impressions throughout the course of the event. Motorsports Marketing's cost-per-thousand impressions can be significantly lower than that of traditional marketing venues.
Create a High Performance, Winning, Market "Leader" image as a major sponsor of Team Purple Motorsports. Team Purple can deliver to those millions of loyal fans an exciting, motivating environment for successful marketing. This is done in several ways.
|
Exposure at the racetrack by the car, crew uniforms, color printed handouts and T-shirt sales.
|
The transporter at the track and traveling across the country.
|
Media and Television exposure.
|
Press releases throughout the year to various racing news organizations, National Dragster Magazine, Drag Review Magazine & other various, popular nationwide newspapers.
|
On-line exposure on www.teampurple.net , www.getsomeracing.net , www.pscaracing.com , www.racingjunk.com/profile/286559 , www.nhra.com and many more.
|
Racecar and transporter display at one of your local business locations the week of the event if requested.
|
Programs to entertain key employees and corporate clients along with related incentive programs. |
In conclusion, the bottom line is that Drag Racing offers sponsors a unique opportunity to focus clearly on their marketing objectives, to reinforce their corporate image to thousands of current and potential customers, increase product market share and earn a maximum return on their sponsorship investment. “Regional” strengths turn into “Nationwide” strengths with Team Purple Motorsports giving your company exposure in all four corners on the Country. That is why innovative "Fortune 500 Companies” are involved in the sport of NHRA Drag Racing. It’s good business!
